Consulted for defense school district sued for failing to recognize an employee was engaging in ongoing sexual abuse of a minor student. Issues involved evaluation of the medical and forensic interview of child, correlation with timing of injury, and evaluation of behaviors/symptoms child may have demonstrated in the school setting.

Consulted for plaintiff suing a school district for ongoing physical and emotional abuse of several children with developmental disabilities. Criminal component resulted in charges, and the civil aspect involved both the teachers engaged in the abuse as well as school personnel aware of the abuse. Issues involved evaluation of the medical and forensic interview of children and collateral information (from parents and teachers), correlation with timing of injury and behaviors. In addition, conducted on-site forensic assessments of the children and families.

Consulted for defense school district sued for failing to protect a child who reported an assault by stranger on school grounds. In this case, there were reported findings of genital injury that propelled the investigation criminally as well as the civil suit. Issues involved a detailed analysis of reported medical findings (were the findings actually there and if so could they be timed), and complex evaluation of prior abuse and the alleged incident.
